Capital City Life
Welcome to Accra — The Heartbeat of Ghana
Fawohodie — Freedom, independence, innovation
The opening story
"Accra does not wake up slowly. It moves immediately, horns in traffic, music from storefronts, conversations spilling into the streets. The city breathes with energy long before sunrise."
Accra is more than Ghana’s capital city.
It is a meeting point where tradition and modern life exist side by side in constant motion.
Here, old family compounds stand beside modern cafés. Street food vendors share the same roads as luxury boutiques. Highlife, Afrobeats, fashion, art, and entrepreneurship all collide to create a city that feels alive at every hour.
Accra’s energy is not chaotic it is expressive.
It is a city shaped by ambition, resilience, creativity, and community.
This collection captures that rhythm not just the places themselves, but the feeling of being inside them.
Cultural deep dive
Makola Market — The Rhythm of Commerce
Makola Market is one of the beating hearts of Accra.
Generations of traders move through narrow pathways lined with fabrics, spices, electronics, and food. The market reflects the entrepreneurial spirit that defines much of the city fast-moving, resourceful, and deeply connected to community.
Jamestown — Where History Meets Creativity
Jamestown carries the memory of old Accra.
Colonial architecture, fishing communities, boxing culture, and street art coexist in one of the city’s most culturally layered neighborhoods.
Today, it has become a symbol of creative rebirth attracting artists, photographers, and storytellers from across the world.
Nightlife & Community
As night falls, Accra transforms again.
Restaurants fill with conversation, music spills into open-air spaces, and communities gather long after sunset.
The city never truly stands still.
Music, Fashion & Movement
Accra’s creative scene is constantly evolving.
From Afro-fusion music to contemporary Ghanaian fashion, the city has become one of Africa’s emerging cultural capitals.
Creativity is not reserved for galleries, it exists in everyday expression.
Why this symbol?
Fawohodie
Freedom, Independence & Liberation
“Independence comes with responsibility.”
Why this symbol?
The symbol chosen for this collection
The Adinkra symbol Fawohodie represents freedom, independence, and liberation.
Traditionally, it reflects the belief that true freedom comes with responsibility, creativity, and self-determination — values deeply connected to Accra’s identity as Ghana’s political, cultural, and economic capital.
Accra is a city shaped by movement and possibility.
People arrive from every region of Ghana carrying ambition, creativity, and the desire to build something meaningful. The city constantly evolves because of the freedom people feel to express themselves — through business, art, music, fashion, and everyday life.
Fawohodie captures that spirit perfectly.
There is also something symbolic about freedom within a puzzle itself.
Individual pieces may appear disconnected at first, but together they form a complete picture much like the many cultures, communities, and personalities that come together to create Accra.
